About Us

Ocean Somali Community Association is a voluntary organisation which was established in 2001 by professionals and Somalis, with the goal of strengthening communication and linkages between service providers and the Somali community. Our genesis was as a direct response to the lack of services to the Somali community residing in the East End in particularly LB Tower Hamlets.

Over the years, we have developed a significant number of very unique services to meet the needs of Somalis and grown to become the strongest Somali organisations in London.

This magazine is the latest innovative development, which we hope will help us reach all Somalis and disseminate their needs to local services providers and government bodies.

Aims & Objectives

  1. To provide quality services suitable to the needs of the Somali community.
  2. To build a platform for Somalis and other communities to come together to share information; and exchange knowledge and skills.
  3. To encourage Somalis to fully access public services, for example, regeneration programmes, employment and training and cross-cultural events.
  4. To promote partnerships between Somalis and relevant agencies, such as, the Police,HM Prison Service, Social Services and Education bodies.
  5. To work in collaboration with other service providers to improve communication, the delivery of services and life-long learning skills to East London Somalis.

Mission Statement
